A Clare doctor has received a top recognition from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Rural generalist registrar Dr Sophie Ootes has been named South Australia’s GP in Training of the Year.
She has trained in a variety of settings, including remote clinics and sports medicine, and is committed to holistic patient care.
Dr Ootes is vice-president and a founding member of the Australasian Wilderness and Expedition Medicine Society, and sits on various state and national sporting committees.
The award is part of the RACGP SA awards – celebrating GPs and practices making an outstanding contribution to their communities.
Dr Ootes has now been shortlisted for the national RACGP awards in Brisbane this November.
