A man has been arrested after allegedly driving a stolen ute through Adelaide’s northern suburbs on just three wheels overnight.
Police were alerted just before 11pm on Saturday, March 21, to a Ford ute travelling at high speed on the Port Wakefield Highway at Dublin, missing its front left tyre. Checks revealed the vehicle had been stolen from Balaklava earlier that evening.
Multiple patrols were deployed as the ute continued south, with members of the public providing real‑time updates to police. The vehicle was later tracked through Waterloo Corner and into the northern suburbs.
The ute eventually came to a stop in the car park of a shopping centre on Spains Road at Salisbury Downs, where the driver was arrested. Two Jack Russell dogs were located inside the vehicle and were collected by the local council for safekeeping.
The 45‑year‑old man, of no fixed address, was charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle, driving while unlicensed and breaching reporting obligations. He was refused police bail and is due to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday, March 23.
