Animal Cruelty Case Faces Court

A Paskeville man has been charged with five counts of animal cruelty under the SA Animal Welfare Act.

66-year-old Leslie Bates fronted the court on Monday, charged by the RSPCA in relation to four greyhounds found with serious medical issues, two of which had to be put down.

The maximum penalty for animal cruelty is $20,000 or two years in prison.

He’ll face the court again in September.
