Distracted drivers will be the new target of regional police after a seven-day statewide police operation caught 161 inattentive and distracted drivers.
Operation Fatal Distraction, which focused on mobile phone use and other behaviours that take driver attention away from the road.

A similar operation in February netted 110 drivers.
Superintendent Darren Fielke, Officer in Charge, Traffic Services Branch said each of these distracted drivers represents a significant risk on our roads.
