A GP in Whyalla has been reprimanded for professional misconduct.

Dr. Neoh, over a period of several years, referred around 180 patients with vertigo symptoms to her father, who was not a registered health practitioner.

Her father provided guidance on the Epley manoeuvre, a treatment for vertigo, despite lacking formal qualifications or training.

Dr. Neoh failed to assess patients individually, obtain informed consent, or disclose her father’s lack of registration.

She also allowed her father to access patient records using her login details, which posed safety concerns.

The Medical Board of Australia found her conduct to be a serious departure from expected standards with Dr. Neoh admitting to inadequate care, lack of consent, and poor record-keeping.

She has since made changes to her practice and accepted registration conditions, including regular audits.

As a result, she has been formally reprimanded.
