Recfish SA is advocating for a complete ban on netting or a limit of three fish per day for commercial fishers, cautioning that the fishery may soon become unsustainable.
Shane Hodgens, owner of Tackle World in Port Lincoln, estimates that recreational fishing brings in around $1 million to Port Augusta alone during the October/November breeding season.
