A big win for one of our best local sporting events.
The Pichi Richi Maraton has been named as the South Australian winner for Best Small Regional Event at this year’s prestigious Australian Event Awards.
The 43rd marathon was held in June and drew 272 competitors to the heart of Quorn, boosting both crowds and community involvement.

Mayor Ken Anderson thanked volunteers and organisers, noting the award recognises the marathon’s role in bringing the community together and showcasing the Flinders Ranges.
The recognition places the marathon among the best regional events in Australia.
