The new Port Augusta Technical College has officially opened its doors.
The state-of-the-art facility will welcome more than 200 enrolments in training programs tailored to local workforce needs.
It is the second of five purpose-built colleges being rolled out under the $208.8 million Malinauskas Government initiative.
Developed with employers including BHP, SA Power Networks and the Australian Hotels Association, the college offers courses in civil construction, cookery and tourism, health and social support, and multi-trades.
Students from across regional SA attend in week-long blocks while completing their SACE at home schools.
Facilities include industry workshops, a commercial kitchen, health training spaces, CAD suite, 3D printing, virtual reality technology, and short-stay accommodation for 44 students.
Premier Peter Malinauskas said the college would give young people a head start in careers critical to the region.
