Port Pirie will welcome more than 450 players and officials for the 2025 THINK! Road Safety Country Football Championships from July 11–13 — the first time the town has hosted the event since 2019.
Top male and female country footballers from across South Australia will compete at Memorial Oval and Pirie West Oval, with Friday night footy kicking off the carnival. The opening match will see Northern and Eyre Peninsula women’s teams go head-to-head under lights.
Saturday’s highlight will be the SANFL League Round 13 match between North Adelaide and South Adelaide, bringing elite football action to the heart of the Roosters’ country zone.
The Eastern zone will aim for a third consecutive men’s title, while their women’s team looks to defend last year’s championship win.
SANFL’s Shawn Ford said the event offers a showcase of SA’s top country talent and delivers major social and economic benefits to the host region. The championships also continue to promote vital road safety messages through SANFL’s partnership with the Department of Infrastructure and Transport.
All games will be live-streamed for free on SANFL Now, with tickets available online later this week.
