Yorketown CFS is seeking new members to join its team and help support the community.
The crew covers road crashes, hazardous materials, and fires, providing a crucial service to the southern Yorke Peninsula.
However, the station is facing difficulties in getting enough daytime crew members, with most volunteers unable to leave work during the day.
Becoming a volunteer doesn’t have to be onerous, with two main roles available – operational support and becoming a firefighter.
CFS Captain Angas McEvoy encourages anyone interested in joining to attend training every Tuesday night at Weaners Flat Reserve, Stansbury Road, or contact the CFS recruitment team.
