Two incidents in Port Augusta have resulted in numerous people being arrested for street offences.
Port Augusta patrols were in MacKay Street at Port Augusta, when they observed a disturbance. Police intervened and needed to deploy OC spray to quell the disturbance.
Five people were arrested and charged with disorderly behaviour and fighting in public place. They were granted police bail to appear in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court on January 11th.
The second incident involved a man spotted by patrols chasing a vehicle and throwing cans at it on Elizabeth Terrace at Port Augusta.
Whilst attempting to arrest the man a large group of people approached the patrol. The group was hostile and police will allege bottles were thrown at them.
The patrol deployed OC spray and moved on groups from the area. Six people were arrested for street offences.
The adults were granted police bail to attend Port Augusta Magistrates Court on January 11th and the youths were bailed to attend court January 6th.
