34-year-old from Kilburn has been arrested following an alleged assault overnight in Port Augusta West.
Just before 2:30am on Wednesday 13 January, Police received reports of a man assaulting a woman on Holtham Court and patrols were sent to the address.
Police had to block the streets as the man refused to come out of the house and threatened to further assault the woman inside.
Police began negotiations, after approximately 1 hour, the man eventually surrendered and was arrested.
The man has been charged with aggravated assault, unlawful threats, unlawful detention and breach of intervention order. The woman was taken to the Port Augusta Hospital with a minor stab wound to her thigh.
The woman was known to him.
The man was refused bail and is expected to appear in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court later today.
