‘New year, new me!’ sound familiar? Well, the Whyalla Triathlon is a fabulous opportunity to get your backside into gear and work towards those new year resolutions!
The annual Whyalla Triathlon is being held on Sunday 28 February 2021. It will take place on the foreshore.
A triathlon is an endurance multisport race which combines swimming, cycling, and running over various distance Triathletes compete for fastest overall completion time, including the transition between each sport.
The Whyalla triathlon has something for everyone! It doesn’t matter if you’re young, old, beginner or athlete. The event offers 4 different levels of length and intensity. In previous years participants aged from anywhere between 3 and 70.
The ‘Kids’ event will include a 30m swim (floaties optional and parents can help), 2km ride (trainer wheels and balance bikes acceptable) and 500m run.
The ‘Challenge’ event is made for the bigger kids or a confident little kid. It involves a 100m swim, 4km ride and 1km run.
The ‘Enticer’ event is a great introduction to the sport of Triathlon. It involves a 300m swim, 10km ride and 2km run.
The ‘Sprint’ event is the longest option for the day! It involves a 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run via the new jetty loop.
You can enter the race online for discounted rate up until 9pm Wednesday 24 February. The event will also allow full priced race day entries from 7:30am on Sunday 28February.
