A 33-year-old woman will face court after police stopped her driving yesterday in Port Augusta.
Just before 5pm on Monday 18January, police bicycle patrol was policing the local CBD, when they stopped a black Ford sedan driving erratically west on Tassie Street.
Upon speaking to the female driver it was obvious she had been drinking after they noticed her speech was slurred and she smelt strongly of spirits.
When asked to exit the vehicle, the 33-year-old woman was unable to stand unaided and fell to the ground.
Police checks on the woman uncovered she was not the holder of a driver's licence and the vehicle she was driving was both unregistered and uninsured.
The Mimili woman was so intoxicated she was incapable of submitting to a breath analysis test.
The woman was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving unlicensed, driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
She has been bailed to appear in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court at later date.
