The future of the beach cafe on the Whyalla foreshore looks promising following feedback from a community forum recently.
Whyalla community members expressed disappointment and concern in the sudden closure of the facility.
Whyalla City Council advised it was legal concerns for safety as the reasoning for the closure on January 5th.
Upon receiving feedback, Whyalla city council arranged a focus group and held a community forum with hundreds of people showing up to support the cafe.
At the forum, Senator Rex Patrick presented Mayor Claire McLoughlin with a petition in support in continuing operations of the Beach cafe.
The petition contained 1600 signatures with 1300 being from Whyalla.
Whyalla city council have conceded, the public majority have been heard and they will be working towards a solution in the near future.
The council have already outlined the options including renovating the building, creating a kiosk or building a brand new structure.
