MAN ARRESTED IN PORT PIRIE

A man has been arrested after he was found in possession of a large number of keys at Port Pirie.

About 12.20am yesterday (April 8), Port Pirie patrols stopped a man and woman coming out of Memorial Park. Police had cause to search the pair and located a number of car keys, house keys and business keys in the man’s possession.

The man was also found in possession of pliers, a face mask and jemmy bar, cannabis and a smoking implement.

A 47-year-old man from Davoren Park was charged with going equipped to commit an offence, possessing an article of disguise, unlawful possession, unlawfully on premises, stating false details and breaching bail. He was refused police bail and was due to appear in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court yesterday.

Police are searching for the owners of the keys; smongst the keys located were a set of keys with a Drakes Community Dollars key tag, for Salt Church Services Group and another set of vehicle and house keys with a Zone Health and Fitness fob attached.
