Recruitment has now begun for rural general practitioners to be based at the Wallaroo Hospital.
Member for Narungga Fraser Ellis MP shared the confirmation from Parliament late last week, that Wallaroo Hospital is to house three salaried doctors in the near future.
The three roles were announced as part of the state government’s Rural Medical Workforce Plan in 2019.
Part of the rural medical strategy recommended the consideration of new medical models, including the introduction of salaried medical positions across various regional local health networks.
A budget of 20 million dollars has been allocated to the medical workforce plan, for use across the next 4 years.
