Labor Senator Surveying Local GP Experiences

Ahead of an inquiry into the regional doctor shortage, Labor senator Karen Grogan is looking to hear from Upper Spencer Gulf residents about their experiences accessing GP services in the region.

In a statement, Ms. Grogan says from the long travel times to see a specialist, huge costs to access healthcare and delays to see a GP, the stories she’s heard are alarming and she is inviting local residents to put forward their stories in an online survey.

Hospitals across regional South Australia have struggled to fill vacancies, with the Federal Government last month offering to slash the university debt of doctors and nurse practitioners if they work in rural or remote areas.

The survey can be found here.
