A 2 week speed detection operation by SAPOL around Port Augusta comes to an end this Sunday.
Since Monday, May 2nd mobile traffic cameras have been positioned at various locations across the city. Major arterials and thoroughfares in Port Augusta that have been in focus during the operation include the Augusta Highway, Flinders Terrace & McSporran Terrace. Motorists are reminded to stick to speed limits, particularly in school zones with the return of students for Term 2 of the school year.
So far in 2022, there have been 27 fatalities on South Australian roads, with 18 of those occurring in regional areas.
