New road works are due to begin soon on Roach Street and Agery Road in Kadina.

Following the successful application for funding through the Special Local Roads Program, the Copper Coast Council has secured $150,000 to put towards the reconstruction.

CEO, Russell Peate, says works will include reconstruction of a 450 metre stretch of Roach Street between the Copper Coast Highway and the intersection at Agery Road, with Mayor Roslyn Talbot saying it was good to be able to get funding for these roads.

Technical officer Caleb Snodgrass says cement stabiliser will be used to reconstruct and resurface the roads, which are currently in a very bad state.

The total cost for both roads, including the intersection, is estimated to come in at around $850,000.

Director of Infrastructure Services, Tim Neumann, says the tender has been awarded.
