Works on the Skillies Bridge are underway as a part of the $40 million Federal and State funded Regional Bridges Upgrade Program.
The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure will replace the existing bridge with wider structures and install new guard rails and bridge barriers.
The upgrades will help accommodate the use of larger vehicle classifications.
Works on the Rocky River Bridge widening are ongoing in the Mid North.
New guard rails are being installed as well as bridge barriers and road shoulder widening works.
Traffic diversion and speed restrictions will be in place adjacent at both locations throughout the course of the works.
Both bridge projects are expected to be completed in June.
