The Whyalla Council is offering traineeship positions to encourage young people to pursue careers locally.
Council is advertising traineeship positions in horticulture and civil construction which will involve fulltime work with Council crews to earn qualifications.
Council CEO Chris Cowley said filling these sorts of positions was one of the more rewarding aspects of the Council recruitment and employment process.
The horticulture traineeships will see the successful applicants assist with landscape construction work, gardening, basic machinery operation and horticulture processes.
The Civil Construction traineeship will involve operating small plant, carrying out manual excavations, support plant operations and planning processes.
No qualifications are required, just a good work ethic, good health and a driver’s licence is preferred. Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
