The Yorke Peninsula Council is looking to hear from locals on the new Draft Coastal Management Strategy.
The Coastal Management Strategy is to provide community-supported directions and actions for coastal open space.
As well as providing guidance on the most appropriate ways to enhance opportunities for coastal access and recreation, in balance with landscape and biodiversity protection.
The Yorke Peninsula is home to 485 kilometres of coastline, a sensitive system with increasing pressures from development, agriculture, tourism, fishing and recreation.
There are many management issues that Council are required and wish to address.
The community are invited to attend public workshops to discuss the Draft Strategy on the following dates:
Monday 29th April, 6.00-7.00pm, Edithburgh Hall
Monday 6th May, 6.00-7.00pm, Corny Point Hall
Tuesday 7th May, 6.00-7.00pm, Marion Bay Community Hall
