The Copper Coast region is the latest council to be included in the Federal Government’s Drought Communities Program, securing $1 million in funding.
Mayor Roslyn Talbot says the funds will provide a much-needed economic stimulus to the community and will enable them to get some projects completed that would have otherwise still been on the wish list.
The Council will be seeking further information on the conditions of the funding allocated, and will provide details to the community as they are available.
The Program helps to assist drought-stricken communities in building more resilient regions for future seasons.
