The Port Augusta Council has been made aware of a petition that is currently circulating within the area.
The petitioners have made various allegations against the Council, including that the Council has failed to exercise its public duties conscientiously and, has failed to listen to the public.
The Council strongly refutes these allegations. Brent Benbow said, ‘The Council is, and has always been, committed to acting in the best interests of the local community and to promote and facilitate a constructive working relationship with the community.’
He encourages members of the public who have concerns regarding the Council, to raise those concerns with the Council directly, to the State Ombudsman or the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption.
