South Australian company 1414 Degrees, have big plans for Port Augusta's abandoned Aurora Solar Tower Project.
The thermal energy storage company is set to acquire SolarReserve Australia, which owns the Aurora Solar Energy Project following a $2 million dollar deal.
The company are set to build up to 400 megawatts of solar PV on the site whilst installing TESS-GRID technology, which has the capacity to buy and store electricity generated by other renewable farms, on the high voltage transmission network in the region.
It is speculated that the project will be able to supply reliable power on demand to the national grid.
