The Whyalla Steel Mill is set to provide the structural steelwork required to build the city’s new $100 million dollar school, creating jobs and boosting the local economy.
Up to $3.5 million dollars set to be injected into local industries for the supply and installation of 650 tonnes of steel, that will form the structure of the new school which is set to be an iconic landmark for the community.
Designed by Cox Architecture, in collaboration with Thomson Rossi, the new build aims to maximise the amount of locally sourced steel used on the project, which has been labelled as a significant investment for the local community and economy.
Construction is anticipated to commence in early to mid-2020, with the school opening in 2022.
