Regional South Australia is set to benefit from the upgrade of our regional roads, boosting jobs and building stronger regional communities, whilst saving lives and improving safety.
The Marshall Liberal Government announced, that during the last State Budget, over $1 billion dollars have been allocated to regional road and infrastructure upgrades.
690 kilometres of shoulder sealing on key regional roads including;
- Playford Highway
- Lincoln Highway
- Goyder Highway
- Wilkins Highway
- Blyth Road (Lochiel – Clare)
14 overtaking lanes across SA including;
- Augusta Highway (x3)
- Lincoln Highway (x2)
- Horrocks Highway (x4)
These regional road treatments are in addition to the existing road packages which include;
- $270 million Roads of Strategic Importance initiatives for works on the Eyre Highway, other Eyre Peninsula roads, Sturt Highway and Barrier Highway;
- $55 million to fix the Horrocks Highway
Major regional infrastructure projects such as the Port Wakefield Overpass and Duplication Project and the Joy Baluch Bridge Project as also underway.
