Whyalla’s Bennett Oval development is well on track according to Council who have stated that Adelaide company Stud Carpentry have kept up the pace despite extreme weather conditions in recent weeks.

Mossop Constructions + Interiors have been contracted by Council to complete the grandstand precinct redevelopment, and have stated, “Their hard work has kept construction on track to have the job completed for next year’s AFL game.”

The main frame of the new amenities block behind the grandstand and the frontage have now been completed, with work on the steel fabrication for the grandstand roof a week ahead of schedule.

The structural steel installation is expected to start early next month, along with the roof, which is anticipated to be completed before Christmas.

Stage One of the Bennett Oval redevelopment has been assisted by a $890,850 State Government grant from the Grassroots Football, Cricket and Netball Facility Program (The Grassroots Program), administered through the Office of Recreation, Sport and Racing. Half of this money will go towards improvements at Memorial Oval.
