On the weekend, Yorke Mid North Highway Patrols stopped a 26-year-old Wallaroo man on the Copper Coast Highway, after police received a call from a member of the public.
The driver was detected travelling 133km in 100km zone and allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.239.
The man was issued with an immediate loss of licence and his car was impounded for 28 days.
He will be summonsed to appear in court over the offences of driving in a dangerous manner, exceeding the speed limit, drink driving and breach of his licence.
Police encourage the community to report any dangerous drivers to police.
