The Port Pirie region have received another million dollars in drought-relief funding as part of second round the Federal Government Drought Community Support Initiative.
The funding, which was made available to eligible councils for local infrastructure projects and activities, was intended to provide drought relief support for local communities.
Some of the projects that have gone out to tender as part of the Round 1 funding in Port Pirie are the Wandearah Institute toilets, the Crystal Brook Community Men’s Shed and the Redhill Football Club toilet extension.
The second round of funding will contribute to similar projects that are yet to be confirmed by councillors, who are currently evaluating potential projects.
