Kilometres of sealed and unsealed roads in Wakefield are set to benefit from another wave of Federal funding.
$750,000 in funding will bring forward planned works for the region, which are set to be completed over the next two financial years.
Wakefield Mayor Rodney Reid said, “The funding allocations will support Council’s efforts to improve its road network.”
Council relies heavily on external funding to supplement the rates income, that goes into road construction and maintenance.
As Council plans to spend over $40 million on roads in the coming 10 years with approximately $4.9 million will go towards the road network, which is 74% of Council’s capital expenditure.
