The City of Whyalla have commenced the annual foreshore sand replenishment project, with 3,000m3 of sand and seaweed set to be placed along the seawall this week.
Locals may see earthmoving contractors and their associated machinery operating along the Whyalla Foreshore, stretching from Roberts Terrace to the western carpark roundabout.
Whyalla Council in conjunction with the Department of Environment and Water have undertaken annual sand replenishments projects since 2013.
Access to the beach is still available but Council have advised locals to be mindful of the works and take note of all signage and directions given by the contractors
The project is anticipated to conclude this Friday.
