The Regional Council of Goyder and UniSA have announced they will be co-hosting a public event which will centre on designing a hypothetical cultural hub, Ngadjuri Arts & Education Centre.
As part of the first semester of UniSA’s Master of Architecture, students were briefed to design a hypothetical centre to reflect “rural futures”.
“This is a unique opportunity to reconnect with the Traditional Owners of this region, their insight, their future visions and their aspirations around a united future.”
The hypothetical facilities comprise of a gallery, interpretive spaces and performance areas merging inside and outside. It also has a strong emphasis on reviving knowledge of language, stories and local indigenous foods.
This cultural structure represents its clients' efforts toward an understanding and acknowledgement of past histories, with a future vision for a united future.
The public event will be held in Burra between 4-6pm on Tuesday, March 10th.
