UPDATE on Business Closures in the Spencer Gulf

The Spencer Gulf have closed businesses across the region following the Australian Government’s restrictions on social gatherings through the closure of non-essential services.

In Port Augusta this affects various venues such as Central Oval, The Institute and Lea Theatres, as well as the Barracks and Ryan Mitchell Swimming Pool.  

In Port Pirie the Aquatic & Leisure Centre, Visitor Information Centre and Shark Cage Virtual Reality experience have been affected.

In the Clare Valley, the Valleys Lifestyle Centre has been temporarily closed, as well as the Clare and Gilbert Valley Library services.

Whyalla Council have put restrictions in place at the Visitor Information Centre regarding all tours and visitor activities and have suspended all steelworks tours for the time being.

In Port Pirie this affects:

 Port Pirie Aquatic & Leisure Centre (both indoor and outdoor facilities)

Port Pirie Visitor Information Centre – Shark Cage Virtual Reality experience.

Port Pirie Library – All children’s activities (includes Baby Bounce, Lego Club, Sunday Storytime and Gen Z).

Crystal Brook Community Bus.

Port Pirie Visitor Information Centre – Weekend and Public Holiday hours suspended.

Pirie Rail Express Miniature Railway.

Tech Savvy Seniors (Port Pirie Library).

Based on current Government guidelines, the Crystal Brook Swimming Pool will remain open as per normal operating procedures as it is a separate outdoor facility.

Belgravia Leisure has implemented risk mitigation strategies for social distancing and personal hygiene. Please note that the Crystal Brook Pool season is due to conclude on Tuesday March 31st.

- Community Thank You and 5th Birthday Celebrations at the Clare Valley Wine, Food and Tourism Centre - cancelled

- SCA Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend - cancelled

- The Market Soiree, Tasting Australia - postponed until Oct/Nov

- Clare Rodeo 21st March - cancelled, but will be back in 2021

- Burra Market Easter Thursday - cancelled
