The City of Whyalla will benefit from a $137 million dollar investment thanks to SA water, with close to 640 meters of new water main pipes set to be installed.
Up to 375,000 meters of water mains will be refurbished across South Australia, with the Whyalla project replacing pipes along Duncan Street between Meares and Lockhart Street as well as multiple surrounding lane ways.
SA Water’s General Manager of Asset Operations and Delivery has stated that the project will ensure reliable water supplies for Whyalla customers into the future, with the pipe replacement expected to take approximately six weeks to complete.
Works will occur between Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm, residents will be notified by SA Water of any temporary interruptions.
