A Whyalla woman took home $100,000 last week, after purchasing a $5 Crosswords Instant Scratch-Its ticket at Westland Newsagency.
The woman was reportedly overwhelmed to discover, she had to add another zero to what she thought was her $10,000 Instant Scratch-Its prize as she had, in fact, scratched a top prize of $100,000.
Westland Newsagency team member Michelle Brine said,” It was great to see another local customer score a major prize,” As quite a few top prize winning scratchies have been sold at the establishment over the years.”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her win she said, “We definitely need a few new things around the house and when we’re allowed out and about again we’d love to go on a holiday.”
According to The Lott, “In 2019, there were 199 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $9.7 million in top prizes.”
“During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 27.1 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $208.8 million.”
