Beyoncé’s upcoming album ‘act ii COWBOY CARTER’ is due to be released on March 29.
Ahead of the album drop, we’ve been teased with two country style singles ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ and ’16 Carriages’ that have fans speculating COWBOY CARTER will be a country album.
The Queen herself has come forward to state “This ain’t a Country album. This is a “Beyoncé” album.”
Bey also shared some insight that no one expected…“This album has been over five years in the making. It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed…and it was very clear that I wasn’t. But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive.”
What happened over five years ago that triggered Queen Bey to take the country world by the balls?
The biggest theory going around on X is that this album came about after her performance at the 2016 Country Music Awards:
Beyoncé references her 2016 CMAs performance with @thechicks in her cover reveal post for #COWBOYCARTER.
