Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you’ll know that K-pop Demon Hunters and Labubu have completely taken over kids’ worlds. They’re everywhere — on screens, in stores, on schoolbags, and, most famously, taking up permanent residence inside our ears.

And I don’t know about you… but if I hear that K-pop Demon Hunters theme song one more time, I might actually explode.
Still, even I can admit these characters are about to dominate Aussie Halloween costumes this year. But which trend will take the crown?

Let’s break it down.

K-pop Demon Hunters blew up after the hit animated film about a group of magical, demon-battling K-pop idols. Their outfits are flashy, colourful, and instantly recognisable — the kind of costumes you see once and immediately understand the reference.

If a group of kids show up at your door dressed in neon jackets, platform boots and glittery weapons, don’t panic — they’re here to look cute, not hunt you.

Because the characters are so bold and stylish, these costumes work amazingly for groups of friends. They’re also super TikTok-friendly… which means every teen in the country is convinced they need this outfit.’

Then there’s Labubu — the quirky, slightly creepy, super-collectible toy character that’s become a fashion favourite. Labubu costumes are fluffy, funny and a bit spooky, but still cute enough for younger kids.

Think big ears, round monster eyes, and that cheeky grin that looks like it knows all your secrets. DIY fans love Labubu because you can recreate the look with a fuzzy suit, face paint and a wild imagination.

If we’re talking pure hype and recognition, K-pop Demon Hunters is likely to top the charts this Halloween. Teens and older kids are obsessed, and the outfits make them feel like part of the squad.

But Labubu will be a strong favourite too — especially for kids who want something cute, weird, and a bit different.

Honestly?
It could be close…
But our prediction is that K-pop Demon Hunters will take the crown in Australia this year, while Labubu sneaks in as a strong second — especially for little ones (and anyone who wants an easier costume that doesn’t require platform boots and glow sticks).

No matter which team you’re on, get those costumes sorted early — because both are already flying off the shelves faster than you can say “trick or treat.”
