Ardrossan Community Hospital has temporarily closed A&E Due to Financial Strain.
As of Monday the hospital suspended its accident and emergency services and acute care due to ongoing financial losses and workforce challenges.
ACH Board Chairperson Margaret Tomsen mentioned this as a temporary measure while exploring future partnerships, possibly with the Yorke and Northern Local Health Network.

Financial struggles, declining patient numbers, and increased operational costs were cited as reasons to the decision.
YP Council Mayor Darren Braund emphasised the hospital’s longstanding service to the community, highlighting concerns over reduced healthcare access for residents.
