Representatives from the foster care sector are this week celebrating major reforms that will see young people right across regional Australia supported to the age of 21.
It follows a long-running campaign involving more than 150 organisations to ensure the 55,000 young Australians in out-of-home care can safely transition to adulthood.
Chair of The Home Stretch coalition, Paul McDonald, says it’s a fantastic achievement but there’s still more work to do, especially for young people living in regional areas.
