Investment of Over $1 Million in Initiatives to Support Vulnerable Members of Aboriginal Communities

The SA government announced an investment of over one million dollars in initiatives to support vulnerable members of Aboriginal communities, including those in Port Augusta.

The funding, announced during NAIDOC Week, will be allocated to programs offering rehabilitation, counselling, and advocacy.

This includes $100,000 for the SA Stolen Generations Aboriginal Corporation to strengthen advocacy and support for Stolen Generations survivors, $140,000 for a new support service for female Aboriginal victims of crime, and $945,000 for cultural programs for Aboriginal people in prison and under community supervision.

Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Kyam Maher, highlighted the commitment to working in partnership with Aboriginal communities on programs and policies that directly affect them.
