Ceduna Police are investigating a break in where a number of distinctive coins were stolen from Merghiny.
On Sunday, the victim’s home was broken into, and rare coins were stolen.
The coins included roman coins dating back to 300 AD, Russian wire money, Pantheon coins from India dating back to 400 BC up until the 17th century, Byzantine roman coins, a blue and a yellow Fatimid glass coin which are particularly rare.
Also, a kissi penny and a number of penny tokens that are of Australian and New Zealand origin.
Anyone with information on the theft or the whereabouts of the stolen coins is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
