RAA Urging Learner Drivers to Make the Most of Lingering Wet Conditions

The RAA is urging supervising and learner drivers to make the most of the lingering wet conditions, and do more than the bare minimum amid alarming new crash data.

Unsupervised P plate drivers are involved in more than six times the number of crashes as learner drivers, according to the new RAA report.

We’re being told in the five years to 2021, P1 drivers were involved in over 5000 crashes – more than six times that of learner drivers under supervision.

Local learners need to clock 75 hours of supervised driving experience to obtain their P1 licence, but there is currently no specification surrounding wet weather driving in or driving on different road conditions.
