The Act, aimed at tapping into the state’s renewable resources, streamlines processes for large-scale renewable energy projects.
Opposition from the Greens and Liberal Party briefly delayed the bill before it passed.

The new Act hopes to unlock the state’s pipeline of renewable energy projects, currently valued at $21 billion.
The Act emphasizes community engagement and environmental considerations while bringing issues such as land access, environmental impacts and native title rights into a single regulatory process.
