In a bid to rev up SA’s car and motorcycle events, the State Government’s Car Club Program has injected $2 million.

The program is set to fuel local clubs, helping them host successful events while tackling rising operating costs.

Recently, eligible car and motorcycle clubs were invited to apply for the first round of grants, amounting to $500,000.

Notably, the Sporting Car Club of South Australia, celebrating its 90th birthday next year, will receive a boost for its 2024 All Historic Day event in the Clare Valley, featuring a street parade that takes attendees on a journey back in time.

Also, Port Pirie Motorcycle Club will upgrade and improve their club room facilities, ensuring members have access to better amenities.

With over 200 recognized motoring clubs in South Australia and more than 39,000 vehicles registered through the expanded conditional registration scheme, the support provided by the State Government’s program will bolster the growth of motorsport communities in the region.

For those interested in applying for funding, the second round of grants will be available in late 2023.
