The ‘Staying at Home in Regional South Australia’ program has been introduced by Resthaven, designed to support older South Australians with dementia to remain at home longer, and Spencer Gulf residents are being encouraged to partake.
Aligned with the Government’s response to the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, the program offers education and support for carers while experienced staff care for their loved ones on-site.
Carers and their loved ones are invited to a short-stay retreat.
Carers gain valuable information and assistance, while their loved ones receive around-the-clock care from trained Resthaven staff.
The program aims to reduce carer stress and improve overall quality of life.
The first program is scheduled for Late August 28-30, funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care.
