Yorke Peninsula Council has swiftly responded to the discovery of non-friable asbestos-containing material at two sites within their jurisdiction: Marion Bay and Berry Bay.
To mitigate risks, both locations will be temporarily fenced off, and warning signs installed to prevent unauthorized access.
Non-friable asbestos, comprising a bonding compound and a small asbestos percentage, generally poses a low safety risk as it does not readily release airborne asbestos fibers.

However, the Council has said they will enact a quick removal process and is taking further precautions, including dust suppression measures.
